Last Tuesday I got to attend my third Emo Nite. I went by myself but met a couple friends there. Let’s just say that this was by far the best Emo Nite I have been to. I had so much energy and I was yelling out the lyrics at the top of my lungs. Typically these days I do not lose my voice at shows, maybe because I am so used to being loud, but that night I did lose it. The energy at the venue was so great and I felt as though I was accepted by everyone there. There were songs that were played that I already love, and as always, I fell in love with even more songs. Overall, being with friends and listening to really great music was what made my night. It was really good to be there last week since I had projects and a midterm all in the same week, so it was nice to have a break of so much fun!
Check out the pictures below, one which was taken by the photographer!
Asking Alexandria’s frontman Danny Worsnop posted a message on his Instagram yesterday about his return that occured two years ago. In the message he also mentions on the working of their sixth studio album. Lots of excitement for the fans. Read his post below with a video.
Vans Warped Tour is about halfway through on their very last full cross country tour. If you have already attended, I hope you had a blast! Maybe you’ve made some new friends. Maybe you got to see all of your favorite bands. And better yet, maybe you met your favorite bands! Now to those of you who have not attended yet but your date is coming up, know that there is a lot of waiting around sometimes. So what do you do during the few hours of nothing to do? Well, here’s a run down of about what your day will look like with things to do to keep you occupied:
You’ve definitely either bought your schedule/map for $2 or you have taken a picture of the inflatable schedule once you have entered the venue. Next, you have gone to your favorite bands’ tents to check their meet and greet times and anything else they have going on. You already know that you should probably get in the meet and greet lines about 30 – 60 minutes ahead of the start time. Then, once you’re done with most things you were wanting to do, the next band may or may not play until way later.
What you could do while you wait is definitely check out the PETA tent to get some free goodies/stickers. PETA also has a tent where you can watch a four minute video. What do you get out of that? You learn what PETA’s about and you earn $1! Another thing you can do is check out the TRUTH truck. They have a live DJ playing some awesome tunes, lots of games, free merch that you can get, and even more! Head Count is also there. What you can do with them is register to vote. Let’s be the future that makes a positive change. Also, keep your phone charged all day with Electric Standard Co. Once your charger is dead, go back to the tent all day long to pick up a new fully charged one. Go to the Monster Mutant truck as well and get yourself a free super soda. You will not regret it! The last thing that will be mentioned, although there are so many more things to do, is go to the FEND Movement tent. FEND is all about being against opioid addiction. If you download the app, you have a chance to go to a private acoustic We The Kings or Waterparks set. How exciting!
So if you still have not attended your Warped Tour date and may have been wondering what exactly you should do to completely fill your day, well now you have some things that can make your day full of fun. Enjoy your day and make this last one count!
Check out Sleep On It’s new music video for “A New Way Home” above. Enjoy!
If you haven’t been looking through The Maine’s Instagram, you may have missed something that is probably very important. For the past four days, they have been posting one picture each day with a single item in the middle with a white background. The first picture was captioned “The countdown begins.” But, what countdown? Could this mean new music? The latest countdown picture is captioned “3 days…” so I guess we will have to wait a little bit longer. Three days isn’t too bad, but when it comes to the fans, it’s the longest three days ever. Can’t wait to see what they’ve been up to!
Check out The Maine’s Instagram page here and be in the loop with what is going on with them. And don’t forget to catch them at the Vans Warped Tour this summer!
Today is a very special and exciting day because it is day one of the last Vans Warped Tour! Pomona, CA is where today’s festival is at and there is so much hype going on. There are bands such as Waterparks, With Confidence, Echosmith, Black Veil Brides, and so many more on this very special day playing the stages.
This summer they are having FOUR Mutant Pit Reporters: Brian Walsh (6.21 – 6.30), Tiffany Mink (7.01 – 7.13), Amanda Kim (7.14 – 7.20), and last but not least Tori Kravitz 7.21 – 8.02). But don’t worry, Warped Tori will be on the tour all summer long with the Mutant Team across the Mutant stages, so make sure to go say hi to her (I know that I’ll be on the lookout for her at my Warped date)!
It is quite a bittersweet summer. We love Warped Tour, but as they say, all good things must come to an end. I have gone to Warped for four years, attended six dates. I’ve volunteered for Rise Records and Alternative Press and every date was a blast.
If you haven’t purchased your ticket(s) yet, you can still do so here. Hurry, because they are selling out, for two dates are already completely sold out.
Comment which date you will be attending this year. Maybe we’ll see each other, who knows! Enjoy your last Vans Warped Tour!
Congratulations Halsey! Her album “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom” has officially earned a certified platinum! This album is definitely different than her first one, “Badlands.” Even her voice you can tell has progressed. We are so proud of you, Halsey.
Just in case you haven’t listened to HFK yet, you can listen to it here.
